NFL Draft 2019: Packers select OL Elgton Jenkins No. 44 overall

Day 2 of the 2019 NFL Draft is underway, and the Green Bay Packers have selected offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins out of Mississippi State.

The Packers have upgraded their offense with this pick. They desperately needed to strengthen the offensive line, and they’ve brought in help at guard with Jenkins. He will likely compete for a starting job right away.

Green Bay focused on the defense on the opening night of the draft, first using the 12th-overall pick to select Michigan defensive end Rashan Gary. General manager Brian Gutekunst then addressed arguably the team’s biggest need at safety by selecting Darnell Savage Jr.
