If James Jones plans to continue his football career in 2016, he must now do so without his favorite clothing item. According to a report by ESPN's Kevin Seifert, the NFL has banned players from wearing hoodies underneath their uniform.
Citing concerns over the visibility of the nameplate, the league has adjusted the 2016 edition of the league handbook to legislate out hooded sweatshirts for the upcoming season. Jones' hoodie often obscured most of the area above the number on his jersey. Long-haired players encounter the same problem, though the league has long allowed for covered nameplates in that circumstance.
