GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Whatever the Green Bay Packers' plans are at inside linebacker, they no longer include Nate Palmer.
The third-year pro was released on Friday.
Palmer started 10 of the first 11 regular-season games last year but was replaced late in the season by rookie Jake Ryan and relegated to special teams. In all, Palmer ranked fourth among all Packers linebackers in snaps played last season (534 or 45.1 percent of the defensive snaps) and figured to be in the mix for playing time again this season.
