There is no question that new Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst is going to do his best to upgrade the defensive talent. But if Mike Pettine is going to have success as defensive coordinator, he will have to get it done with some of the guys currently in the building.
One thing to like is about Pettine and the Packers, is that he is not committed to one front. He has a background in the 3-4 under Rex Ryan, but he is willing to adapt his scheme to his players. That’s something the Packers need.
They need to stop trying to find players that project to fit well in the system.
