GREEN BAY, Wis. – After consecutive Thursday games, the Green Bay Packers had the chance for a mini bye last weekend before they returned to work on Tuesday.
Not unlike the real bye, which came after six games, it allowed coach Mike McCarthy and his staff the chance to reflect on that segment of the season. Before the season, McCarthy broke the year into three parts (remember the whole Hero's Journey theme):
The six games before the bye.
The six games before last weekend’s mini bye.
And the final four games, which begins Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.
