GREEN BAY, Wis. – A month after he called out Eddie Lacy for being overweight, Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy believes his underachieving running back got the message.
On the day McCarthy introduced the new members of his coaching staff and spoke for the first time since he fired Lacy’s position coach, Sam Gash, last month, McCarthy said he’s confident Lacy’s conditioning won’t be the issue in 2016 that it was last season.
“Everybody’s accountable to their area, and the position coach is ultimately accountable for the performance and the training of their players,” McCarthy said Thursday.
