Expectations coming into the season: With Morgan Burnett and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix entrenched as starters at safety, Hyde was to be a role player on defense. His bigger role was to be as punt returner on special teams. Hyde would fill in on defense in certain packages and in case of injury. With his known struggles in coverage, Hyde was slated as more of support near the line of scrimmage (run support, blitz packages).
