GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Our ESPN draft analysts Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay took different approaches to reviewing each team’s draft: Kiper graded teams on their entire draft, while McShay selected each club’s best pick.
In a Green Bay Packers draft devoid of skill-position players -- Cal receiver Trevor Davis (fifth round) was the only one general manager Ted Thompson selected among his seven picks -- Kiper still found enough to like. He gave the Packers a solid "B" largely because Thompson filled needs with players who might be able to contribute right away even if the class on the whole was largely unremarkable.
