Matt Blanchard impresses coaches in early camp workouts

Green Bay — A daunting task awaits Matt Blanchard when training camp resumes for the Green Bay Packers in five weeks. In the same quarterback room, the former UW-Whitewater star watches film with the league's most valuable player (Aaron Rodgers), a backup the team re-signed in the off-season (Scott Tolzien) and an athletic fifth-round pick out of UCLA (Brett Hundley).

But given more snaps to show off his arm in minicamp this week, Blanchard proved he has a puncher's chance of making the team.

Blanchard was sharp both Tuesday and Thursday — clearly superior to Hundley for now.
