Former Green Bay Packers tight end Mark Chmura was on Wilde and Tausch this morning comparing former Packers tight end Jared Cook to current Packers tight end Martellus Bennett.
Chmura suggested Bennett is a better blocker (he is), but Cook is a better pass catcher. Bennett thought that was pretty funny.
So who is the better pass catcher?
Statistically, Bennett is superior.
Bennett’s season highs for catches and yardage are 90 and 916. Cook’s are 52 and 759. Both guys are big and athletic, but Bennett is actually the better receiver.
Cook’s highest catch percentage in a season was 64.
