I was recently thinking about the success of the Green Bay Packers‘ offense, especially the receivers, and it got me thinking to years past and some of the receiving corps then.
Notwithstanding the Packers years of the 1960s, where it was generally “three yards and a cloud of dust,” I looked a little closer at the early 1980s to a time where passing was pretty successful for them, just before passing became more the order of the day.
The 4th of July has made me a bit wistful.
Specifically, I started with the Lynn Dickey years with James Lofton, John Jefferson and tight end Paul Coffman in the early 1980s.
