The Green Bay Packers defense is far from dominant, but their play has been part of the team’s successful 7-2 start this season even though they are not creating as many turnovers as they did a season ago.
In 2019, the Packers finished the season ranked 18th overall in yards allowed per game, 23rd against the run and 14th against the pass. The team’s saving grace was turnovers. Green Bay’s defense intercepted 17 passes and recovered eight fumbles for a total of 25 turnovers. This year, through nine games, the Packers have only seven turnovers, four interceptions and three fumble recoveries.
