The donor registry drive will be held to support former Packers player Mitchell Henry, who was recently diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Henry’s best chance for a cure to his illness is through a bone marrow transplant, and donor drives like Friday’s event can increase the pool of donors in hopes of finding a match for Henry and those with similar illnesses.
To register as a potential donor, supporters must only fill out a registration form and have the inside of his or her cheek swabbed. Those eligible to register are individuals between the ages of 18 and 44 who are in general good health and would be willing to donate to any patient in need.
