Kyler Fackrell, Packers hope 2014 ACL injury is behind him

Green Bay — When Kyler Fackrell stepped onto the turf in the Don Hutson Center on Friday, it marked the formal beginning of his professional career with the Green Bay Packers. Fackrell, an outside linebacker from Utah State, had been drafted in the third round to add depth as an edge rusher in a 3-4 defense not unlike the one he roamed in college.

But for as much as this weekend's rookie orientation camp marked the start of Year 1 for Fackrell, the more important anniversary is still a few months away, in late September, when he reaches Year 2 — as in two years removed from surgery on a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
