Nelson appeared on the Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday, confirming that he was working on a one-day contract to officially retire with the team.
Nelson's 10 seasons with the Packers saw him accumulate 7,848 yards and 69 touchdowns, which ranks as the second-most in team history behind only Don Hutson.
