Nelson had been sidelined during OTAs because of offseason hip surgery, something everyone involved was being cagey about. Tuesday was the first time he actually did anything other than rehab and stand around on the sidelines.
“Yeah, this week was the first time I’ve (caught passes), so we’ve been progressing on our own inside and then just slowly integrating it out there in practice,” he said.
While the company line has been that Nelson’s surgery was “just to clean some things up,” it became clear when OTAs started that it was a bit more than that.
