GREEN BAY, Wis. — Jordan Love had a free play at the snap. His voice made sure of that. The Green Bay Packers quarterback used his hard count to pull defensive lineman Kingsley Keke across the line of scrimmage.
As the snap arrived, Love already knew what to do.
In a play that has become a staple of the Packers' offense for more than a decade, albeit with a different quarterback delivering the football, Love took his shot. Allen Lazard ran down the middle of the field, double covered by safeties Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage. Love dropped his pass perfectly between the two safeties, a ball he never would have thrown if not for the absence of risk.
