Two players on Green Bay Packers championship teams in the 1960s have died.
William "Red" Mack, a player on the Packers' Super Bowl I championship team, died April 8. Mack, 83, was born in Oconto and died at his home in South Bend, Ind.
John Roach, 87, who was Bart Starr's backup at quarterback from 1961-63, died Feb. 18 in Dallas.
Mack was born in Oconto but grew up in Allison Park, Pa., near Pittsburgh. He attended the University of Notre Dame on a football scholarship before he was drafted in the 10th round of the 1961 draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
