Green Bay — Joe Thomas stood in front of his locker and slowly shook his head. The second-year linebacker knew he literally let one slip away.
Trailing, 21-10, with nine minutes left in the fourth quarter, the St. Louis Rams were driving and faced third down and goal at the Green Bay 7. Thomas dropped back into coverage and broke on quarterback Nick Foles' pass headed toward tight end Lance Kendricks.
Thomas had a bead on the ball at the 1-yard line, but the football deflected off his hands. Fortunately for the Packers, it caromed into the waiting arms of Green Bay safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in the end zone to stop the threat.
