We didn’t get the wide receivers coach right, but it looks like we will get the offensive coordinator right. Former Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator and Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin will reportedly return to the team.
Although the role hasn’t specifically been defined, it sounds like it’s offensive coordinator. That job became open when coach Mike McCarthy fired Edgar Bennett. The team’s quarterbacks coach job is also open. However, offensive coordinator is the obvious spot for Philbin.
He served in that role with the Packers from 2007-11. Philbin served as the Dolphins coach from 2012-15, where he went 24-28.
