Jones signed a three-year, $10 million contract with the Raiders prior to last season. In his one season in Oakland, Jones caught 73 balls for 666 yards and six touchdowns.
The Raiders went and upgraded their receiving corps by signing Michael Crabtree as a free agent and drafting Amari Cooper in the first round of the draft. Those moves made Jones expendable.
