Jamaal Williams unlikely to return to Green Bay, per Jamaal Williams

With Aaron Jones returning to the Green Bay Packers by way of a big contract, the chances of Jamaal Williams doing the same seemed slim.

Today, Williams all but confirmed that was the case in an appearance on NFL Network. Though he said he was happy for Jones, he noted “It’s just sad that we won’t be able to play together again.”

Williams, drafted a round ahead of Jones in 2017, is hitting free agency after a solid year as the Packers’ second option in a crowded backfield. He compiled 505 yards and two touchdowns on 119 carries and added another 236 yards and a score on 31 catches while also offering his typically solid pass blocking as a third-down back.
