GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Jamaal Williams knew what he signed up for when he went to BYU. Even though he’s not Mormon, the school’s honor code applied to him just as any other student.
And it nearly cost him his career.
Williams violated the code and withdrew from the university before the 2015 season began.
Yet when the Green Bay Packers interviewed the running back in advance of last week’s draft, they were impressed with his answers to their questions and that he returned to school a year later to run for 1,375 yards as a senior and set the school’s career rushing record with 3,901 yards.
