GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The loudest boos of the night -- the only audible boos, actually -- were directed toward Jake Schum.
Green Bay Packers fans clearly were not happy with their new punter.
Coach Mike McCarthy isn’t, either, but it doesn’t sound like he’s ready to make another change even though Schum finished with a net average of just 35.0 yards in near-perfect fall conditions during Sunday night’s win over the New York Giants at Lambeau Field.
Schum’s net average on four punts was lower than all but two games last regular season by Tim Masthay, the veteran punter the Packers dumped this summer near the end of the preseason.
