I was reminded earlier today that a lot of people call former Green Bay Packers punter Jake Schum, Jacob. We did it, apparently because that’s how most other outlets were referring to him.
However, he refers to himself as Jake, not Jacob, so we’re going with that from now on.
Jake Schum got released by the Packers today.
The timing is most certainly odd, but it’s not as if Schum had a fantastic year in 2016. He was 27th in average and 24th in net.
Remember when Tim Masthay set a Packers’ record in net average in 2015 thanks almost entirely to Jeff Janis being a special teams demon?
