GREEN BAY, Wis. -- After a 10-tackle performance in a relief role against the Carolina Panthers, Jake Ryan didn’t get a single snap on defense in Sunday’s loss to the Detroit Lions.
Surprisingly, the Green Bay Packers put Nate Palmer back at inside linebacker.
It was Palmer who had been benched in favor of Ryan, but apparently Ryan wasn’t as productive as it first looked. After the coaches’ review of the Carolina game, Ryan’s tackle total was reduced to six, including two assisted tackles.
Usually, the coaches find ways to pad players’ stats -- not the other way around.
