After having a good debut against the Houston Texans, rookie quarterback Jake Luton will remain the Jacksonville Jaguars’ quarterback for Week 10’s game against the Green Bay Packers. Coach Doug Marrone confirmed the news Monday, which many expected to be the case with Gardner Minshew II not throwing yet due to a significant thumb injury.
“Gardner [Minshew II] is progressing but it doesn’t seem like he’ll be progressing enough to be ready, so Jake [Luton] will play quarterback,” Marrone said Monday.
Luton’s second start comes after he aided the Jags to a competitive game against the Texans and put them within a 2-point conversion of knotting it up at 27 points.
