Iowa defensive end Drew Ott saw his senior season cut short by a knee injury suffered in the third quarter of the Hawkeyes' Week 6 win over Illinois.
Four weeks before that ACL tear, Ott dislocated his left elbow against Iowa State. He played through the pain of the first injury and finished with five sacks.
But it was largely a lost year on the field for Ott, the Hawkeyes’ emotional leader on defense and co-captain relegated to the sideline as his teammates finished a perfect regular season and at 12-1 earned a spot in the Rose Bowl Game Presented by Northwestern Mutual to play Stanford.
