I am assuming that GB does not want to significantly increase Aaron Rodgers’ cap hit for 2018. I also assume that the front office wants to be in a particularly good position to contend for Super Bowls over the next two or three seasons when Aaron Rodgers is most likely to retain enough physical skills to remain an elite quarterback.
