GREEN BAY – Assuming Brian Gutekunst opts to stand pat at No. 14 when the NFL Draft begins on Thursday night, the Packers’ first-year general manager will have history on his side.
The Packers have drafted from the 14th position three times over the past 68 years, landing future Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Dave Robinson in 1963 and three-time Pro Bowl tight end Bubba Franks in 2000.
Robinson, who was recognized on the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 1960s, played his first 10 NFL seasons with the Packers. Known for his playmaking ability, Robinson intercepted 27 passes over the course of his 12-year NFL career.
