The San Francisco 49ers (5-5) are on the brink of playoff elimination, as it seems likely that they’ll have to win the NFC West to earn a postseason berth. Currently, the Arizona Cardinals lead the West with a 6-4 record, while the 9ers are in a three-way tie for second at 5-5.
Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers (7-3) are hoping to keep their slim NFC North chances alive as they continue to be in a good spot to compete for the top two wildcard seeds in the NFC.
The Packers will be out cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee - MCL) and linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring), but San Francisco is dealing with far more significant injuries.
