Jordy Nelson’s absence was far from the only reason the Packers offense sputtered last season, but it was definitely the biggest. There was collective dismay, but not quite panic when Nelson tore his ACL. Many thought the Green Bay offense could survive with Randall Cobb and a rising Davante Adams in the fold, and of course reigning MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Nobody is underestimating Nelson’s importance to the team now.
Nelson is simply an irreplaceable talent. He succeeds on a combination of physical ability, technique and chemistry with Aaron Rodgers. He is a well-rounded receiver who can beat defensive backs early in the route, at the catch point, and after the reception.
