Francis Louis “Jug” Earp, the 6-1, 235-pound offensive Center, Tackle and defensive lineman played for the Green Bay Packers from 1922-32.
Per a Terry Bledsoe’s article (see thumbnails on right) on “Packers of the Past,” Jug Earp was the first center to employ the technique to use one hand to snap the ball.
