Apr. 29—Former Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford was selected by Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the NFL draft Saturday.
Clifford, taken with the 149th overall pick, was a four-year starter for the Nittany Lions and is the program's all-time leader in passing yards (10,661) and passing touchdowns (86).
Last fall, he completed 64.4% of his passes for 2,822 yards and 24 TDs against seven interceptions, and finished 28th nationally in pass efficiency.
He led Penn State to a 35-21 win over Utah in the Rose Bowl, his 32nd win as a starting quarterback, breaking a tie with Trace McSorley for the most in Nittany Lions history.
