Sports Illustrated’s Paul Zimmeran, also known as Dr. Z, recently produced an exhaustive all-time list of the best in NFL history at all 22 positions, selecting up to four players for some positions.
While his list is one of those that is sure to raise a few eyebrows, overall it’s a smart, logical look at the players who have manned their positions best.
On offense, Dr. Z honored Don Hutson at receiver and Forrest Gregg at tackle as two Packers offensive players deserving of his list, while he also selected Willie Wood at safety and Reggie White at defensive end on the defensive list.
