For a draft-and-develop team, hitting on players in the draft is a must. The Green Bay Packers took eight swings last spring, and as we arrive at the offseason, it’s a good time to reflect on how each player performed in their debut campaigns.
A point of emphasis last offseason was to oversee big improvements on special teams. Many of the Packers’ draft picks had that in mind. Wide receiver Ty Montgomery has ability in the return game, and fullback Aaron Ripkowski was selected knowing he could find a home on special teams before taking over John Kuhn’s duties on offense.
