By 3 p.m. CT on Tuesday, the Green Bay Packers’ offseason roster will need to be down to just 53 players. As we’ve seen in recent years, the initial roster that is announced doesn’t have to look like the one the Packers will field in Week 1 of the regular season, but new rule changes that allow Green Bay to place two players on non-season-ending injured reserve without having to expose those players to waivers first should provide the team with more of an opportunity to shape the roster how they see fit even earlier in the process.
