The Packers have essentially had a reset at the position in the past eight months. Out goes Eddie Lacy, James Starks and Christine Michael. In comes three rookies–Williams, Aaron Jones and Devante Mays–who join Ty Montgomery in the running back room. Montgomery was a wide receiver less than a year ago.
Williams was the first rookie of the trio selected by the Packers. Does this put him in pole position for playing time behind Montgomery? That will be settled in training camp.
