GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Green Bay alders spent an hour and a half discussing Lambeau Field lease negotiations in the closed-session portion of their common council meeting on Tuesday night.
City boards can discuss matters related to ongoing contract or lease negotiations behind closed doors, so they don’t give away their negotiating strategies to outside sources. It’s both legal and something that happens frequently in all municipalities.
After returning to open session, the alders passed a motion to “proceed as discussed” in the closed-door meeting.
