Sometimes, the game, or the players, just don’t live up to the pre-game hype. It was supposed to be the two greatest quarterbacks of all time, ideally making big play after big play, in a big offensive shootout. What happened was much, much different. Neither quarterback played all that well, Green Bay’s offense never got going, and the Patriots used a flea-flicker, double pass, and a well-timed fake bubble screen to really break open the game.
A lot of the talk this week was about the play of Aaron Rodgers, and rightfully so. Speaking ill of anything that Aaron Rodgers does is unfortunately somewhat taboo in Packers’ nation, but at the moment, one of the greatest of all time isn’t playing all that great.
