GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Sub Geronimo Allison and Jermaine Whitehead for Jared Abbrederis and Chris Banjo on the Green Bay Packers’ roster.
The team made those moves on Monday, the same day news broke of cornerback Damarious Randall’s unexpected groin surgery. Randall is expected to miss at least a month and while Abbrederis (quad) and Banjo (hamstring) could have returned at some point this season, the Packers apparently felt like they needed their roster spots immediately.
So Allison, an undrafted rookie who turned heads in training camp, takes Abbrederis’ spot among the receivers -- a position group that was depleted in part because of the need to play Ty Montgomery at running back following injuries to Eddie Lacy and James Starks.
