With another new season of Packer football, it’s time for the return of my weekly series, the Game Changing Play of the Week! Each week I pick one play that I think was a “turning point” for the Packers (positively or negatively) en route to their victory or defeat.
For this week, I’ve selected Aaron Rodgers’ big pass to Marques Valdez-Scantling that set up the Packers’ first and only touchdown of the game. It might seem weird to select an offensive play, given that the big stories of the game were the Packers’ defense and punting game, but without this one big play to put the Packers in scoring range, the game might not have turned out in the Packers’ favor.
