GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The former Packers director of public relations, who was hired by Vince Lombardi and worked with greats like Bart Starr, passed away on Sunday, the team confirmed.
Chuck Lane died on Sunday at the age of 82. He was hired to promote the Harlem Globetrotters in the midwest after graduating college, and then in 1966 Lombardi hired him to be the team’s publicity director. He was in charge of the team’s public relations for the first two Super Bowls.
While with the Packers, Lane also helped in organizing the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Association.
