ESPN reporter Adam Schefter dropped a nugget of info Wednesday that's sure to get the attention of Packers fans: The Chicago Bears have requested permission to interview Eliot Wolf for their general manager opening.
As in, the son of Ron Wolf, who took over as Green Bay Packers general manager in 1991 and catalyzed a run of organizational success that has lasted for three decades. The same Eliot Wolf who was himself part of the Packers' front office for 13 years, mostly under Ted Thompson.
The Bears fired general manager Ryan Pace (and head coach Matt Nagy) on Monday, and hoo boy, what better way to stir up the ever-smoldering rivalry between the Packers and Bears than hiring the son of a Green Bay legend?
