In the past six years, Green Bay has signed seven free agents in the month of March during the NFL’s prime free agency signing period. Two veteran cornerbacks (Tramon Williams and Davon House), one veteran defensive lineman (Ricky Jean-Francois), and incredibly, four tight ends (Jared Cook, Martellus Bennett, Lance Kendricks, and Jimmy Graham).
Add in the late free agent signing of Marcedes Lewis last year and it’s not difficult to see that Green Bay has absolutely prioritized the free agent position, especially within the past three years. The reason for this is that Green Bay has been unsuccessful in drafting or developing a tight end since the injury to Jermichael Finley.
