The Nebraska Cornhuskers have a long and fascinating history in the Super Bowl. In the 58 previous Super Bowls, 63 former players participated in the big game, with 26 starts.
The first Huskers to appear in a Super Bowl were Warren Powers and Kent McCloughan of the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl II. The Raiders would lose the game to the Green Bay Packers by a score of 33-14.
Those two losses marked ten straight Cornhusker losses in the Super Bowl. Nebraska would not win its first big game until a trio of Huskers won in Super Bowl XI.
