Even with Smith Back, Gary's Playing Time Should Increase

As it currently stands, the Green Bay Packers find themselves about $11.5 million over the projected salary cap for the 2021 season. There are several moves that they can make to get under, and one in particular that everyone thought was coming was cutting Preston Smith in favor of $8 million in cap savings.

However, when talking with reporters this past week, GM Brian Gutekunst threw a wrench in that plan, saying that he "expects" Smith to be back. Now, does that mean on his current deal with a $16 million cap hit? Will Smith be taking a pay cut?
