Even with Nick Perry back, Packers a bit thin at outside linebacker

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Even after bringing back 2012 first-round pick Nick Perry Thursday evening, the Green Bay Packers still have plenty of work to do at the outside linebacker position.

The Packers agreed to terms with Perry on a one-year deal, a source told ESPN.com’s Rob Demovsky, after declining the fifth-year option on him before last season. Perry battled through injuries his first three seasons and dealt with shoulder problems last year, when he recorded 3.5 sacks in regular-season play and before registering another 3.5 in the playoffs.

That leaves two other Packers outside linebackers on the open market: Mike Neal, whom the Packers remain interested in and have not closed the door on possibly returning, and Andy Mulumba, who did not receive a qualifying offer as a restricted free agent but also still could return.
