SAO PAULO, Brazil − It was going to be a formality anyway, but Isaiah Rodgers' hand injury that is keeping him out of the Eagles' opener against the Packers made it a fait accompli for rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell:
He is starting at cornerback opposite Darius Slay, and he's not coming off the field.
It's a similar situation for Nakobe Dean at linebacker. Sure, Devin White's ankle injury is keeping him out of the game, too, but Dean had apparently won a starting job with a strong second half of training camp. The only question was whether Dean had beaten out White or Zack Baun.
