While Richard Sherman awaits his fate with the Seattle Seahawks, the team has sent away another part of its once-dominant defense. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Seahawks have traded three-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman Michael Bennett and a seventh-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a fifth-round selection and wide receiver Marcus Johnson.
Once the brightest young power in the NFL after back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, the Seahawks have aged into an also-ran. Not content with that status, general manager John Schneider decided to begin dismantling his old and highly paid defense.
